Job Purpose 

The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner primarily within the Flow Centre, Outpatients and Associated Services but with rotation (to be agreed) through the Emergency Department, RIE and the Same Day Emergency Service, WGH as part of an acute services Redesign of Urgent Care model.

Work within the Flow Centre as part of a hybrid clinical team of lead advanced nurse practitioner, advanced nurse practitioner/trainee advanced nurse practitioner/ clinical nurse advisors providing a service of assessment, triage, initial management, and ongoing referral for patients in the Redesign of Urgent Care and Access to Urgent Care programmes.

Working in an advanced capacity within agreed protocols, the post holder is responsible for ensuring the highest standard of care is delivered to patients across Lothian. Provision of expert professional and clinical assessment and advice. Responsible for providing specialist education and training programmes for health care professionals and other professional groups. Implement and undertake research activities ensuring evidence-based practice in the specialist area.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
