Agricultural Technician

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of our friendly and successful team in the South-West region. This role is concerned with providing support to farming businesses. The role includes a blend of practical and technical consultant support activities with traditional administrative responsibilities.

Key elements of this role include:

• Working and corresponding with farmers on a daily basis


• Front-of-house administrative duties


• Internal reporting and business support


• Supporting consultants in delivery of national programmes and initiatives, including the Scottish Farm Advisory Service and Whole Farm Plan


• Sampling and data collection in office and on farm


The post-holder will perform additional duties as directed from time to time by the Line Manager.

The post holder must always be able to multi-task and use their initiative in the conduct of their work. They must be able to apply sound judgement to ensure that they conduct themselves within the framework of SRUC regulations and procedures., The successful candidate will be educated to SCQF level 6 including a high degree of numeracy.
