Full Job Description

  • Defining and carrying out engineering analysis tasks allocated to you and to your team members as part of the Advanced Aerostructures group, working on a range of modern military air platforms
  • Review, checking and approving work done by less experienced colleagues
  • Mentoring and developing less experienced colleagues to build up the team's knowledge, skill and experience across the Structures discipline.
  • Ensuring effective interactions between team mates, suppliers, customers and others, to develop efficient and effective working practices, and resolving issues as they arise to maintain this effectiveness
  • Carrying out analysis of structure fatigue and damage tolerance calculations using a variety of software applications, to demonstrate that the structural design meets relevant certification and project requirements
  • Assessing the F&DT implications of modifications and repairs to in-service aircraft

    You will have a STEM-related degree or relevant aerospace engineering experience
  • Familiarity with structural fatigue and fracture mechanics, dynamics, vibration and acoustic effects analysis methods
  • Good understanding of classical structural analysis techniques and methods
  • Experience in using and applying of structural analysis tools such as Nastran etc, and output data processing techniques
  • You will have experience of leading engineers in developing and delivering satisfactory customer outcomes
  • Demonstrable experience of Aircraft Structural Engineering, and the application of F&DT analysis
