Full Job Description

The Airspace Change Organising Group (ACOG) has been set up as part of the UK's Airspace Modernisation Strategy (AMS) to coordinate and support the delivery of transformational airspace change across the UK.
ACOG's main purpose is to coordinate the implementation of a major airspace change programme which forms part of the Airspace Modernisation Strategy - known as the Future Airspace Strategy Implementation (FASI) programme.

ACOG is charged by the cosponsors of the AMS, the DfT and CAA to produce an airspace Masterplan; this is a high-level implementation plan that sets out how individual airports with interdependent airspace design changes will be developed to achieve the range of benefits that modernisation will bring. ACOG are committed to maintaining a positive, constructive, and successful programme delivery environment that supports all programme stakeholders.

Job purpose:
To provide analytical expertise that supports the delivery of the UK airspace modernisation strategy, by actioning the ACOG Benefit Strategy and utilising ATM simulation tools.

Other duties include:

  • Conduct benefit assessments using airspace and ATM simulation tools, measuring the impact of the FASI programme at a national level. Provide regular reports to internal and external stakeholders on benefit status.

  • Create visualisations of airspace designs in conjunction with ACP (Airspace Change Proposal) sponsors, aiding in the coordination and clear communication of proposed interdependent changes.

  • Manage and complete analytical tasks, ensuring delivery within agreed timescales and estimated effort, to the required quality in line with masterplan requirements. This will include carrying out or reviewing scientific, technical or data analysis and drawing technical conclusions.

  • Maintain the current ACOG suite of Power BI datasets and dashboards.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to the wider ACOG team with the provision of data and analysis to help achieve ACOG's objectives.

Experience in an analytical role or a qualification at degree level in an aviation, scientific, technical, or numerate subject area.

  • Excellent analytical skills, including a proven track record of conducting analysis, drawing robust conclusions, and reporting these accurately and meaningfully.

  • Proficiency in Power BI and Power Platform with the ability to build data models from multiple sources, including the need to transform data using Power Query, M, DAX or similar.

  • Experience in the use of ATM simulation software such as AirTOP is desirable but not required.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to collate technical data and information and develop workable solutions.

  • Knowledge of aeronautical data sources and the use of this information throughout the ATM environment is desirable.

  • Knowledge of the airspace change process (CAP1616), or broader aviation domain is desirable.

ACOG offer a comprehensive package including competitive basic salary, generous pension, Income protection, and life assurance.

  • We have adopted hybrid / agile working to provide greater flexibility and increased choice over working arrangements, with the opportunity for this role to work in our modern office facilities as well as remotely - (This will consist of min 4 days per week remote working with occasional travel to the London office when required).

If you share our passion to advance aviation and keep the skies safe - we would like to hear from you whatever your age, sex, race, faith, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, visible or invisible disability. Individuals that bring different perspectives, skills, life experiences and backgrounds help us be at the forefront of our industry.
