Full Job Description

Hutcheon Mearns is delighted to partner with our key client in their search for an experienced Accounts Payable Team Leader for their finance operation.

Based in Renfrewshire, they operate on a one-day-in-the-office and four-days-from-home working model and offer a range of flexible benefits.

Due to the structure of the wider finance team, the roles offers the successful candidate a great platform to gain further experience across various areas of finance.

The role

As the Team Lead in the Finance Delivery team, you would be responsible for overseeing the Accounts Payable function, managing a team to ensure the smooth execution of day-to-day activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate payments to suppliers
  • Proactively identify system challenges, escalating issues to the appropriate teams for resolution
  • Lead the team on a daily basis, maintaining service quality, adherence to standards, and implementing process improvements
  • Take ownership of the team's performance, ensuring alignment with defined milestones and KPIs
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with stakeholders to deliver value through clear objectives, effective prioritisation, and continuous improvements
  • Foster a culture of accountability, openness, and continuous improvement within the team
  • Plan and prioritize future initiatives, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of key objectives

About You

  • Proven experience in people management, with the ability to cultivate a positive, fast-paced, service-driven team environment
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels
  • Experience leading and developing teams in a dynamic, fast-changing environment
  • Strong resilience, with the ability to deliver results within tight deadlines while managing ambiguity and shifting priorities
