Full Job Description

As a Senior Data Analyst, you will report to the HR Data & Analytics Manager and be responsible for interpreting and analysing a wide range of data within your area of expertise. You will provide bespoke support, predictive insights, and actionable recommendations in relation to SSE's Learning, Talent and Inclusion function. Additionally, you will manage specialist reporting for various internal, external, and regulatory purposes, acting as a subject matter expert to senior leaders, corporate, and HR partners. You will also oversee the deployment of Oracle data infrastructure and reporting changes, working with IT and project teams to create effective solutions. In this role you will:

- Collect and analyse data from diverse sources, providing actionable recommendations, identifying trends, highlighting issues, and driving remedial actions.

- Create executive-level reports for GEC and board meetings, assist in preparation for GEC and CEO meetings, and conduct scenario modelling and predictive analytics.

- Prepare reports for external regulatory submissions, track progress towards company targets, support internal briefings for HR leadership and corporate partners.

- Provide regular reports for the Director of Learning, Talent and Inclusion and team combining data and gleaning insights from information such as systemised training interventions, talent progression and succession planning, internal productivity, Net Promotor Scores (NPS).

- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, act as a subject matter expert and influence reporting solutions and ensure reporting processes are efficient and meet business needs. Collaborate with Corporate Affairs and Sustainability for annual reports and support one-off activities such as investor bids and industry surveys.

Strong analytical skills with experience in data wrangling and complex data sets. Proficient in advanced data analytics modelling, forecasting, and scenario planning. Previous experience of working within Human Resources or Learning teams is desirable.

- Advanced skills in Excel and experience with analytics tools like Power BI. Knowledge of data visualisation, storytelling, and data models.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate large-scale data into meaningful outputs.

- High level of self-motivation with the ability to work independently. Driven to deliver high-quality work efficiently and meet strict deadlines.

- Strong relationship management skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels. Experience in representing an organisation confidently at external events.
