Full Job Description

As an Apprentice Packaging Team Member, you will support Wellpark Brewery and undertake development towards a Modern Apprenticeship specialising in the Packaging Department. You will help the Packaging Department to meet KPI requirements for safety, quality, cost, service and on time delivery and to continually improve our service for internal and external customers. You will also follow agreed training plan to achieve skills required to obtain Modern Apprentice qualification and become a valued member of the Packaging Team., Safety, Health and Environment
+ Co-operate with employer on all safety, health, and environmental matters.
+ Take care of personal health, safety, and well-being and not put yourself or others at risk.
+ Adhere to all SHE procedures, processes, site standards and legal requirements.
+ Attend and follow all health, safety and environmental training provided to ensure understanding and maintenance of SHE standards/safe working practices.
+ Wear and maintain any mandatory Personal Protective Equipment in the correct manner as issued, required, and instructed.
+ Reporting any incidents, ill health, hazards, near misses and accident to line managers immediately.
+ Never interfere or misuse anything provided for health, safety, or welfare purposes.
+ Be proactive in approach to SHE standards, including keeping work area free from hazards, and maintain good housekeeping.
Food Safety and Quality
+ Ensure required customer service levels whilst ensuring food safety, authenticity, legality, and quality requirements are fully adhered to and not compromised.
+ Comply with all Statutory & Legal requirements, such as average fill levels and ABV checks.
+ Comply with any appropriate packaging or food hygiene safety regulations as defined by policy or legislation, such as HACCP.
+ Carry out inspections and be vigilant within the department and across the site of any threats or vulnerabilities to the business and report appropriately. (TACCP, VACCP).
+ Comply with all Product & Process Quality requirements.
+ Comply with all Housekeeping, Cleaning & 5S requirements and maintain all relevant documentation.
General
+ Operate Packaging Equipment to ensure the department delivers finished goods of the right quality, at the right time and at the right cost to the logistics department.
+ Undertake improvement activities to ensure the department meets all its KPI (Key Performance Indicators) Targets, such as Short Interval Control (SIC).
+ Undertake packaging related tasks, as directed by the Front-Line Manager.
+ Attend Meetings & Briefings as necessary.
+ Comply with all documentation and transactions required to operate and improve performance in the department.
+ Maintain quality and traceability records to comply with audit standards.
+ Ensure that all internal customer requirements are met.
+ Participate in any internal or external audits and comply with the standards expected.
Modern Apprenticeship
+ Learn and develop skills within the packaging department to achieve credits towards the Modern Apprentice Qualification.
+ Document and record learning or competence for evidence towards qualification and retain ownership of this throughout.
+ Attend scheduled visits with the training provider to update Skills Development Scotland of progress made.
+ Attend College, external training or internal training where required as part of the training development plan.

+ English & Mathematics National 4, National 5, Higher, or equivalent desirable.
+ Packaging or engineering-based qualification an advantage.
+ Excellent team player, able to develop strong relationships with colleagues and peers.
+ Computer Literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages an advantage.
+ Positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills.
