Full Job Description

Location: Glasgow (Hybrid with travel across Scotland)

Salary: £58,000 - £63,000 per annum + £6,000 Company Car Allowance

Reports to: Head of Apprenticeships Scotland

Benefits:

Role Purpose:

As the Apprenticeships Operations & Learner Support Senior Manager, you will be instrumental in enhancing the learner journey and ensuring operational effectiveness. You will develop, implement, and continuously improve policies, procedures, and practices. Additionally, you will design and deliver a comprehensive learning and development program for operational colleagues, ensuring robust support strategies for learners with additional needs.


Key Responsibilities of the Apprenticeship Operations and Learner Support Manager:

• Learner Journey Development: Lead the end-to-end learner journey, ensuring processes and policies are effective, efficient, and continuously improved to enhance the learner experience.

• Operations Manual Management: Develop and maintain the Operations Manual, ensuring it accurately reflects all key processes, policies, and working practices. Secure senior management engagement to review and update these annually.

• Training and Implementation: Design and implement training and development activities to ensure all colleagues understand and comply with operational practices. Lead the induction process for new operational delivery colleagues.

• Learner Support: Develop and implement strategies, policies, and plans to support learners with additional needs, ensuring they receive the necessary support to progress and complete their apprenticeships. This includes developing resources and programs for English, mathematics, and neurodiverse learners.

• Team Leadership: Manage and coach a team of Learner Support specialists, ensuring they meet KPIs and deliver high standards of support. Foster a team culture that motivates and inspires excellent performance and continuous improvement.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including operational senior managers, funding bodies, and quality teams, to enhance the learner experience and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.


Essential Requirements:

• Significant senior leadership experience in a similar role, within Apprenticeships or FE sector.

• Proven experience in leading learning, development, and talent activities.

• Strong understanding and experience in apprenticeship delivery and additional learning support.

• Knowledge of Apprenticeship Funding rules in Scotland

• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies

• Experience in designing and delivering bespoke training to a range of key stakeholders

• Full UK Driving Licence with the ability to travel extensively across Scotland.
