Full Job Description

Are you passionate about Aquatics and increasing participation in swimming and aquatic programmes for all ages and abilities?

 

Do you love teaching swimming so much that you would like to make a career out of it?

 

Can you support the Aquatics Manager and be directly responsible for the effective and efficient management and development of our aquatics programme throughout Fife?

 

This role will involve working with key partners to deliver aquatic opportunities throughout Fife for all levels of participants. The post holder will be a member of the Activities Management team with a key role to maximise the performance of participation in all aquatic activities in line with key strategic objectives.

Contract Type: Full-time - 36 hours per week.


The role will have core hours of 3pm till 6pm Monday to Friday, with the remaining hours being agreed with the Aquatics Manager.

 

Location: Fife Wide Base - Michael Woods Sports & Leisure Centre, Glenrothes

REQUIREMENTS


SVQ2, National Certificate, Higher or equivalent

 

Understanding and experience of delivering education and CPD programmes

 

Scottish Swimming’s Teacher Qualification

 

Before confirming appointment you will be required to obtain PVG from Disclosure Scotland


RESPONSIBILITIES


1. To work with all relevant customers and stakeholders to deliver one comprehensive learn to swim programme throughout FSLT facilities that increases participation and delivers against the objectives in FSLT Business Strategy.

 

2. To develop the infrastructure and increase capacity for swimming in FSLT by developing a workforce of qualified and licensed swimming teachers that deliver a high quality learn to swim programme that is valued by customers and clubs alike

 

3. To implement Scottish Swimming’s pathways to improve performance in swimming in Fife.

 

4. To monitor, evaluate and review the impact of programmes and initiatives


THE INDIVIDUAL


Experience of monitoring and evaluating projects

 

Knowledge & understanding of current developments in swimming

 

Knowledge of relevant external funding opportunities and agencies

 

Understanding of Scottish Swimming’s swimmer pathway

 

Able to focus on agreed objectives and meet targets

 

Excellent Communication skills

 

Able to work on own initiative

 

Excellent organisational skills

 

Highly motivated
