Full Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Arable Operator to join our busy and progressive farm in North East Fife. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to become part of a well-established farming business that specialises in potatoes, cereals, and some livestock work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Machinery Operation – Responsible for operating a range of farm machinery.
  • Potato Harvesting – Experience with potato harvesters is highly desirable, as you will play a key role in the harvesting process.
  • Spraying & Crop Protection – PA1 & PA2 spraying certificates are preferred, ensuring effective and safe pesticide application.
  • General Farm Work – Involvement in all aspects of arable farming, including cultivations, planting, irrigation, and crop management.
  • Livestock Assistance – Occasional work with livestock as needed.
  • Maintenance – Ensuring that all equipment is well-maintained and in good working order.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive Salary – Based on experience and skill set.
  • Accommodation – A cottage is available for the right candidate.
  • Varied Work – No two days are the same, with involvement in different aspects of the farm.
  • Long Hours During Peak Seasons – The role requires commitment, especially during busy periods such as planting and harvest.
  • Training & Career Development – Continuous learning and development opportunities to enhance your skills.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience in arable farming.
  • Skilled in operating farm machinery, particularly potato harvesters.
  • Holds or is willing to obtain PA1 & PA2 spraying certificates.
  • Hardworking, reliable, and willing to work long hours when necessary.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
