Hourly Rate: £19.54 - £21.20
Salary: £35,672.14 - £38,701.64 pro rata, per annum
Contract Duration: Temporary until 01.01.2028
Hours: 17.5 hours per week
Role Purpose
A 3 year temporary contract opportunity has arisen in the Building Standards section for an enthusiastic person to assist the Council’s delivery of its statutory Building Standards service. You will process building warrants, assist in the inspection of works on site and deal with dangerous buildings.
A diploma/degree in building surveying or equivalent formal qualification, or substantial relevant experience in dealing with development applications, negotiations, plan assessment and dealing with dangerous buildings.
The position is based at headquarters in Newtown St. Boswells. A driving licence and regular access to a vehicle will therefore be essential.

Proven record of relevant CPD training.
