Full Job Description

To provide care and assistance to individuals and small groups of pupils with additional support needs.

    The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). Part-time hours / sessional posts will be pro-rated accordingly. Hourly rate of pay: £14.09 - £15.14 Temporary until 26th June 2025. This is a 39-week sessional post i.e., working hours will be during school term time plus in-service days. Days and hours of work: Specific working days to be discussed, however it will be 2 days a week between Monday - Thursday, 10:00-14:00, and alternate Fridays, 08:30-12:30. To start asap. East Lothian Council seek to appoint a positive, resilient and inclusive individual for the position of Additional Support Needs, at The Brae. The Brae is the severe and complex needs provision attached to Rosehill High School, on the Wallyford Learning Campus. Our S1-S4 school roll currently sits at around 480 and includes 28 young people in our severe and complex needs provision, The Brae currently has four classes with a combined total of 28 learners and will continue to expand in following years. This secondary learning facility is designed to support creative approaches to learning, with a range of adaptive teaching spaces. Alongside up to date and digitally enabled classrooms, there is a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) wing, a Learning Resource Centre, extensive facilities to support the arts, and a state of the art sport and leisure complex. Learning and teaching on the campus goes beyond the traditional classroom and encompasses outdoor learning and sustainability. The campus also includes a number of community and health spaces to support collaboration between a range of professionals and sectors. Each ASN auxiliary is allocated to a strong House Team, and will work closely with the Curriculum Leader for Support for Learning, Pupil Support Workers, classroom teachers, and support staff.
