Full Job Description

The role is to support the personal, physical, medical and nutritional needs of young people with complex additional support needs.

Provide support to pupils to access learning in all areas of the curriculum as led by the class teacher and other visiting professionals

Work closely with pupils to carry out actions and supports from Individualised Education Plans developed by class teachers, in conjunction with therapists, and Coordinated Support Plans, personal care plans etc .

Assist with the preparation of classroom materials, keeping the classroom areas tidy, safe and ready for learning.

Develop a knowledge and awareness of individual pupils and their capabilities and highlight/discuss any issues which will assist the class team in the child planning process., To provide care and assistance to individuals and small groups of pupils with additional support needs.

experience of working with people with additional support needs of any age in any setting

- experience of supporting young people in an educational setting or another setting

- experience of working with young people

- first aid training

- experience in delivering personal care plans or dealing with health support plans

- understanding or experience of autism or other communication disorders, Good standard of general education.
Experience of working with or caring for children with additional support needs.

NURSERY ONLY: SSSC registration is an essential requirement of this role. If you are

Ross High School is a co-educational, non-denominational school situated in Tranent, East Lothian approximately 12 miles from the centre of Edinburgh.
