About the Role:

Forth Valley College's Apprenticeships, Skills & Commercial Department is on the lookout for a Process Engineering Maintenance (Electrical) & Instrument and Control Work Based Assessor to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in supporting and assessing candidates within the Process Engineering Maintenance (Electrical) & Instrument and Control disciplines. The ideal candidate will have proven, relevant, and up-to-date hands-on industry experience in Process Engineering Maintenance (Electrical) & Instrument and Control disciplines, with a particular emphasis on vocational qualifications and quality frameworks. While support is provided, knowledge in these areas is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver guidance and support to candidates in compiling and presenting a comprehensive portfolio of evidence that adheres to the vocational qualification's performance criteria and evidence requirements.
Conduct fair, safe, and reliable assessments of candidates' skills and knowledge in their respective workplaces.
Maintain excellent communication and IT skills to effectively manage interactions and documentation.
Exhibit a strong passion for professional discipline, with an ability to work under tight deadlines and independently manage workload.
Inspire, encourage, and motivate candidates, fostering an environment conducive to learning and professional growth.
Participate actively as a member of the engineering assessment team, contributing to the continuous improvement of assessment processes and practices.

Essential Requirements:

Proven, relevant, and up-to-date hands-on industry experience in Electrical, Instrumentation & Control.
Experience in the oil and gas sector and engineering environments.
Exceptional communication and IT skills.
A genuine enthusiasm for mentoring and skill development within the engineering field.
Ability to work to tight deadlines and effectively manage personal workload.
Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for frequent and extensive travel.

Desirable Qualifications:

A recognised Assessor and/ Verifier qualification or the willingness to work towards gaining these qualifications.
