Assistant Accountant

Hutcheon Mearns have been engaged by our client in the agricultural sector to source an Assistant Accountant on a full time, staff basis. This role will be based in Turriff where you will be responsible for assisting with a wide range of tasks within the group of businesses. This role comes with excellent career progression and development opportunities.

To be considered, you will be currently working in a general accounting role. This role is suited to Accounts Assistants or Assistant Accountants who are looking for a fresh challenge in a successful, growing business.

The Opportunity

• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Assist in the preparation of final accounts to statutory level ready for audit
• Assist in the preparation of management information and costings
• Credit Control and sales ledger receipt allocation
• Cash Flow Forecasting
• Budgeting and Variance Analysis
• Detailed analysis work and VAT Returns
• Supervision of sales and purchase Ledger data entry
• Sales invoicing
• Month end reconciliations
• Process Credit Card Statements, Fuel Sheets, Inter-Company Recharges

Background and Experience

• Accounts Assistant or Assistant Accountant
• Sage 200 experience (desirable)
• Robust problem-solving capabilities
• Strong communications skills to ensure deadlines are met in a timely manner
• The ability to work under pressure using own initiative
