Full Job Description

We're currently looking for an Assistant Accountant to support our Development and Sales teams in a dynamic and engaging role. You'll play a key part in preparing and posting first-tranche sales, contributing to the monthly management accounts, and supporting our year-end accounting process. Working closely with the Sales team, you'll help ensure accurate monthly forecasts of sales and profit margins, providing essential insights to drive our success. This role is offered on a six-month fixed-term contract to cover an internal secondment, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute and develop in a collaborative team. In this varied role, you'll act as the primary financial contact for our Development and Sales teams, helping with:

  • Preparing and posting shared ownership sales transactions
  • Preparation of Sales budgeting for the Group
  • Production of social target rents for development
  • Allocating sales and marketing costs across various schemes

  • Housing Sector Experience: Background in housing and shared ownership accounting.
  • Financial Expertise: Experience in a finance department with a good understanding of core finance functions.
  • Software Knowledge: Proficiency with financial software packages.
  • Analytical Abilities: Experience in producing quarterly and annual management and statutory accounts.
  • While this role is home based, you should have the ability to travel to Group offices and other locations for meetings as required (approximately 1-2 times per month).
