Full Job Description

This role sits within the Financial Control team which is responsible for Ledger Control & Reporting across the commercial finance business areas within Commercial Banking. We're looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking project accountant to help us land system changes for our Open Account platform.

Day to day you'll be;

  • Representing the team as an SME on the Open account project to ensure the proposed deliverables are fit for purpose.

  • Undertaking any UAT necessary.

  • Assess the accounting requirement and treatments for future tactical and strategic work around for new business requirements.

  • Implementing the manual process for syndication and dynamic discounting until the automated solution is in place.

  • Working with Group Treasury to bring the COF in line with group processes.

  • Ensuring balance sheet controls are strong for all Open Account accounts

  • Taking ownership for mapping updates to sub ledger tables to ensure data flows correctly into the general ledger.

    Experience of being an SME on finance projects

  • Strong background of delivery and driving continuous improvement against a constantly evolving landscape.

  • Bring a problem-solving approach with excellent analytical and investigative skills.

  • Works collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders, utilising well-developed relationship skills.

  • Good communicator, excellent organisational ability and able to operate independently or as part of a team.
