The shift pattern for this position is Mon Fri.

Within South Sector the AHP teams work together supporting each other to ensure we produce high quality care for our patients.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Generic Assistant Practitioner to join the Older Peoples Services Outpatient Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Team on a full time, permanent basis. This post involves supporting the occupational therapy and physiotherapy staff in delivering a high quality service to patients. The work will be based in the outpatient clinics within the QEUH and New Victoria hospitals, and will also involve home visits.

The applicant will be expected to:

  • Carry their own, delegated patient caseload and to treat patients as delegated by a qualified occupational therapist/physiotherapist, working to treat, progress and discharge these patients from the service.
  • Manage their own diary
  • Deliver treatments in both individual and group settings.

Requirements/Skills:

  • Previous experience of working with adults and knowledge of the principles of rehabilitation, and the role of the occupational therapist and physiotherapist in this.
  • They should have the skills to engage with and motivate others, as well as a clear interest in Older Peoples Services.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and display flexibility and evidence a strong team work ethic.

Training will be provided to allow you to undertake clinical and non-clinical duties. You will be fully supported by the occupational therapy and physiotherapy staff and will participate in supervision and personal development planning to help fulfil continuous professional development.
