Assistant: Retirement Housing with Meals in Airdrie

We are currently looking for a full time Assistant to work at our Retirement Housing with Meals development Broomfield Gardens on a temporary basis. Broomfield Gardens provides a Retirement Housing Service to tenants aged 60 and over, who wish to retain their independence, but want to leave the worries of repairs and looking after the garden to someone else. We are seeking the right person to join the team and help make this possible.

 

The successful candidate will benefit from daytime work and great work life balance as you help improve the lives of older people in Scotland.

 

Hours of employment are 35 hours per week, organised as follows:

Monday and Sunday from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.

Please note this is a fixed term post to cover an internal secondment and is expected to end on 31 March 2025.

 

The successful candidate will undertake a range of cleaning duties to ensure that internal communal areas are clean, hygienic and meet the standards expected by our tenants and visitors to the development. Assisting with meal preparations and helping tenants at meal times will be required

 

On occasion, the Assistant will be expected to clean vacant flats and/ or external pathways of the development and provide general and emergency assistance to tenants, as required. In addition you will respond to property emergencies, taking appropriate action when the Manager is off duty and providing cover for the development office as required.

Role Requirements:

An interest in working with older people and an understanding of their needs is essential. Although relevant experience in a similar post is also desirable, it is not essential as induction and training will be provided.
