Position:
An opportunity has arisen for a permanent Assistant Technical Officer based at University Hospital Crosshouse.
What you will do:
The Audiology Service in NHS Ayrshire & Arran is a busy clinical/technical Service caring in particular for the hearing needs of the local population.
The Service is looking to recruit a highly motivated, hardworking individuals with an enthusiasm for working in a fast paced and at times demanding, people oriented environment where the role focuses primarily on front line duties that support our adult hearing aid users, This work will be carried out through direct and indirect patient contact providing information, advice and technical support to hearing aid users which will include the repair and replacement of hearing aid systems.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
You must exhibit both excellent communication skills as well as possessing a welcoming people focused demeanor and personality and have a good understanding of working with people with a sensory impairment.
General interest in technology and practical skills in the use of modern technology is a pre-requisite however specific training to support the repair and maintenance of hearing aid systems will be given.
In addition to excellent communication skills, previous experience of working in a busy patient/customer oriented role is vital as is a good level of computer literacy.

Hours:
37 per week.
A car licence/Car ownership is essential to this role.
