Full Job Description
Peace Recruitment is recruiting an Associate Director Quantity Surveyor in Edinburgh for a leading global consultancy renowned for delivering an impressive portfolio of construction projects world wide. Their Edinburgh team is expanding to support a major high-profile project in the Edinburgh city centre, therefore seeking an experienced and dynamic Associate Director - Quantity Surveyor to lead and deliver this amazing project with support from junior member of the team.
This opportunity will provide a platform for personal growth in the near future to Partnership for the right person. You should ideally have experience delivering large scale projects £50m - £100m+, managing a small team of professionals, networking, and ambitious plans to develop your career.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead and manage the quantity surveying functions on a major project in Edinburgh, ensuring delivery is on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Client Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships, and ensuring their requirements and expectations are met or exceeded.
- Team Management: Provide leadership, guidance, and support to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Cost Management: Oversee all aspects of cost management, including preparing cost estimates, tender documentation, cost control, and final account settlements.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage project risks, ensuring effective mitigation strategies are in place.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed reports for senior management and stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, and any issues that may affect project outcomes.
- Compliance: Ensure all work complies with relevant legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: MRICS (or equivalent) is essential.
- Experience: A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in quantity surveying, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role, ideally within a consultancy environment.
- Sector Knowledge: Strong knowledge and experience in major construction projects.
- Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to manage client relationships and lead project teams.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with industry-standard quantity surveying software and tools.
