Full Job Description

Peace Recruitment is delighted to bring this opportunity to the market, we are working with a well-known SME cost consultancy in Glasgow. They are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support on a number of new projects they have recently won.


They will consider applications from candidates with 5 years post grad experience, either working towards APC or chartered status. For applicants looking for support with APC, our client have an excellent programme with a recent 100% pass rate.


You can expect to work in a small team of experienced professionals, in a modern office with hybrid working, delivering a diverse range of projects in the private sector.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans.
  • Manage project finances, including valuations, cost reporting, feasibility studies, and final accounts.
  • Provide cost advice and financial reporting to clients.
  • Conduct risk and value management and cost control.
  • Administer contracts and manage subcontractor accounts.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Mentor and support junior quantity surveyors.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • MRICS or working towards RICS accreditation.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within a cost consultancy or construction environment.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, procurement processes, and contract management.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., CostX, MS Excel).
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
