About the job

As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) in the Risk Solutions team, you will acquire a wide range of technical skills, gain first-hand experience in the financial risk space, and collaborate to build automated test frameworks and test suites.

The Risk Solutions development team is focused on the creation of risk and finance related applications across the banking and insurance sectors. As a valued member of this dynamic team, you will have the opportunity to develop on top of exciting technologies and learn domain-specific knowledge as you build out our regulatory and analytical products.

As a Sr Associate Software Development Engineer in Test, you will:

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks, tools, and scripts that address specific needs.

  • Create test strategies, test scenarios, and test ideas with clear intent.

  • Understand and be able to diagnose and debug issues with containerized deployments.

  • Follow and contribute to R&D best practices and processes.

  • Actively involve other project stakeholders (managers, developers, user experience designers, and more) to ensure tests satisfy requirements and are consistent with established R&D standards.

  • Participate in project scoping and scheduling in an agile manner, and track progress of individual tasks, alerting stakeholders of issues blocking task completion.

  • Conduct code reviews to ensure integrity and cross-product consistency within our test suites.

  • Design, develop, document, and execute manual tests when necessary.

    Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related discipline.

  • Proficiency in at least one programming languages (e.g. Python).

  • Experience with Git or another version control system.

  • Analytical mindset with an aptitude for problem solving and debugging of complex software systems.

  • Knowledge of cloud technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.

  • Knowledge of relationship databases such as PostgreSQL.

  • Understanding of REST API concepts.

  • Experience working in an agile software development environment with collaboration tools such as Jira.

  • Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with the SAS programming language including SAS macros.

  • Background in risk management, finance, or statistical modeling.

  • Experience developing, deploying, and maintaining infrastructure in a public cloud platform, such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
