Full Job Description
The post holder will report into the Children's Services Manager (CSM) and Service Co-Ordinator providing operational support across the service. You will be predominantly based within the B-Enabled Outreach Support Service, however, may be required to work across all DSI Services. Your role will be split between case holding and delivering sessions to children and young people out in the community. Your post will involve carrying out visits, and attending multiagency meetings, it is therefore essential that you are a car driver and have use of a car for the purpose of this post.

- It is essential criteria that you have a passion for and experience of working with children, young people and their families with SEND
- Have an understanding of issues facing young people with SEND and complex health needs
- Experience in community outreach, education, or a related field is essential as you will be working with children and young people 1:1, 2:1 and in small groups.
- You must be able to work flexibly as you will be required to work some evenings and one weekend day in order to meet the needs of the service (can be discussed at interview)
- You will give guidance and support to workers involved with young people
- You will act as a liaison between educational settings and work with schools and community partners to identify and address specific educational needs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
- You may be required to deliver training to staff and other professionals as and when required.
- You will have effective knowledge and experience of safeguarding children procedures.
- You must have clear and analytical thinking e.g. in relation to undertaking care plans, risk assessments and work within health and safety guidance.
- You must advocate on behalf of children and young people.
- You will be working alongside the CSM and Service Co-Ordinator to ensure the service operates in line with CQC regulations.
- You must be highly motivated and work in a clear direction to deliver the current contracts and associated delivery and practice standards.
- Promote good practice in equality and diversity and provide advice and guidance that champions inclusive approaches and practices.
- Work across the locality as required.
Barnardo's B-Enabled Outreach Service supports children and young people who are not currently accessing full time education. Our outreach service aims to bridge the gap between formal education and community engagement by providing tailored packages of support and resources to young people with the ultimate aim of working towards reintegration into an educational setting. History of Service Barnardo's DSI service has been providing support to children & young people with a disability and their families across East Riding for over 20 years.
