Full Job Description

Eden Scott's client is seeking a candidate who is available for a Banking Transaction & Payment Administrator to join their expanding team based in Edinburgh team. The role will be hybrid 3 days in the office and 2 days at home

The successful individual will get involved in the following;

  • Monitor daily shared mailbox, responding to all internal / external queries promptly and regularly.
  • Deal with daily end-of-day checking of all online banking systems to ensure payments have been released
  • Collate statistics and type of transactions processed;
  • Create and maintain internal procedure documents;
  • Understand and adhere to FCA Client Assets Sourcebook (CASS) procedures;
  • Ensure any returned payments are investigated immediately and relevant business areas are notified;
  • Timely escalation and troubleshooting of payment / account exceptions
  • Production of necessary reports on a periodic as well as ad-hoc basis required by the regulatory requirements or management information.
  • Daily review and investigate on suspense accounts
  • Responding to internal queries, providing necessary audit trail and documentation to support the work performed.

Person Specification

  • Relevant knowledge and experience, ideally in a back office, middle office, operations or similar function of a banking/financial services organisation
  • Preference for candidates who have worked with UK Payment schemes.
  • Knowledge of bank payments / account to account transfers.
  • Diverse product knowledge, with an ability to develop an understanding of new products
  • Ability to work under considerable time pressure, whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Strong analytical skills to analyse the information, identify the problems, and work towards finding the solutions
