Full Job Description

Utopian Professional Recruitment are delighted to be working with our well established client looking to expand their team with a Bar & Events Manager.

This is a great opportunity for someone with an excellent track record in the hospitality and events industry, looking to progress their career at a high-end and reputable venue.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Implement stock rotation procedures and train staff to effectively upsell and highlight promotional offers.
  • Manage weekly bar stock checks, oversee deliveries to prevent discrepancies, and place orders to keep all bars adequately stocked for operational needs.
  • Set minimum stock levels to avoid shortages that could impact business operations.
  • Act as the central point of contact between departments, facilitating smooth communication and cooperation among the Sales & Marketing Manager, Head Chef, and F&B Assistants for effective event and shift management.
  • Lead events with professionalism, including taking on the role of Wedding MC when required, and efficiently resolve any issues that may arise before, during, or after the event.
  • Ensure event setups are executed accurately according to detailed instructions provided by the sales and events team.
  • Work closely with the Sales and Marketing Manager to ensure the seamless coordination and delivery of all events, from booking through to completion.
  • Monitor pricing strategies to ensure gross profit margins are achieved.
  • Oversee staff performance, addressing any underperformance in a timely and constructive manner.
  • Train, assess, guide, and motivate all Food & Beverage staff to ensure they meet the established standards and uphold company values.
  • Develop staff schedules at least two weeks in advance and manage absences in line with company policies.
  • Handle customer feedback and complaints promptly and effectively during shifts.
  • Adhere to correct procedures for opening and closing the venue.
  • Maintain vigilance on security and compliance with statutory obligations.
  • Ensure proper cash handling, confidentiality, and safety practices.
  • Enforce compliance with company rules and regulations for both staff and customers.

To be considered for this opportunity, our client does require the following background / experience:

  • Experience in Events and Hospitality
  • Personal Licence Holder
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends
  • Staff management and mentorship skills
  • Understanding of GPs and pricing
