Position

An opportunity has arisen for a BBV Clinical Nurse Specialist at University Hospital Crosshouse.

What you will do:

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) will provide clinical care and support to the Ayrshire and Arran Hepatitis C, Hepatitis B, and HIV care and treatment services.

You will take part in the Blood Borne Viruses (BBV) clinics, providing specialised nursing support to consultant clinics and will work within the hospital based team, the prison based in reach service, and the outreach service. You will also contribute to the delivery of an integrated system of care across hospital/prison and community. You will be involved in integrated care pathways, protocols and guidelines in line with the National Sexual Health & BBV Framework. You will contribute to audit, research and their application.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You should be able to provide evidence of personal development and a willingness to undertake appropriate training.

A professional qualification of RGN and educated to degree level is essential. You should have experience of working within a clinic setting and previous experience of working within a prison is desirable. A current knowledge and experience of treatment, care and support of individuals with a BBV diagnosis is also essential.
