We are one of the largest and most experienced teams of port and marine structures designers globally and we are world leaders in the production of port feasibility studies and designs. You'll be part of the Edinburgh Maritime Team led by our Associate Director. The Edinburgh office is part of a larger UK maritime team across 5 UK offices.The Role: We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a BIM Technician to join the Maritime in Edinburgh. Your main duties will be translating and processing smart solutions and designs into your 3D BIM models and 2D drawings, automated where possible. You are proficient in Revit and enjoy collaborating with the many maritime experts in our team. The work will be mainly in the field of Maritime and Heavy Civil Engineering Works.Main Duties and Responsibilities: As a Revit/BIM Technician, you translate output into models and drawings using Revit and occasionally AutoCAD. You work with your team members but also share knowledge and/or collaborate on large projects with colleagues worldwide. To do this, you need to be aware of various software (developments). While using Revit, you are also challenged to automate recurring tasks using Dynamo. Continuous innovation is encouraged through our DWoW program (Digital Ways of Working). Some of the projects you might work on include:

  • Various Port Infrastructure designs such as quay walls, jetties, mooring facilities for the public and private sector.
  • Smaller feasibility or design assignments.
  • Qualifications and Experience: Essential:
  • Qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering and a clear motivation to develop within the maritime field, particularly in port infrastructure and development;
  • Have 2-5 years of professional work experience;
  • Fluent in the latest Revit packages and basic knowledge of Dynamo, AutoCAD, and/or Civil3D;
  • Are flexible and proactive.
  • A clear understanding of the construction industry practices and legislation
  • A clear understanding of the Quality Management System / checking process required within a design office
  • Good communicator with keen listening / questioning skills
  • Good all round organisational skills
  • Able to work without support and produce quality drawings
  • Able to guide and support less experienced members of staff
  • Desirable:
  • Experience of RC and Steel detailing
