Full Job Description

Kier Strategic Projects have a great opportunity for a Building Services Manager to join the team delivering our HMP Glasgow project., As Building Services Manager for a major project you will work closely with the MEP lead initially responsible for high value site wide utilities packages from design development to commissioning, including, but not be limited to; HV distribution network, LV fibre optics, external Security system and water networks.

Your day to day will include:

  • Take ownership for the delivery of the building services and technical integration of all systems on the project.

  • Manage the Technical Specialists for Specialist Systems and System Integration, review Technical submittals, benchmarking, establish and track KPI's.

  • Review Building Services sub-contractor Technical Submittals and RAMS and provide comment, be responsible for the coordination of Building Services with construction design and construction works.

  • Check ongoing installation for compliance with contract requirements and provide advice to the team, provide expertise advice and guidance in planning, executing and closure of the building services commissioning and integration process.

  • Create a resource plan for a large complex project, assisting with the recruitment of quality, skilled candidates who embody the Kier values and behaviours and provide leadership and mentoring to the services team

  • Provide clear, appropriate and timely feedback on performance, attitude and behaviour to continually grow and develop the building services team members, contribute to the regular Project Reports and chair or attend Project Meetings.

    Qualification in Mechanical and/or Electrical disciplines (desirable), Degree qualified and relevant professional qualification/ accreditation (preferred)

  • Strong technical knowledge of services including specialist installations, commissioning and integration - specifically strong knowledge of Utilities - HV Distribution, LV Fibre Optics, Water and External Security

  • Experience in the production of the project programmes

  • Experience of managing and motivating a team of technical specialists.

  • Delivery of large, high value Building Services packages in a major construction setting.
