Are you an experienced MEP professional? Then perhaps you can leave your mark on one of Scotland's largest construction projects, conveniently located circa 10 miles North East of the Glasgow city. We have an excellent opportunity for a Building Services Manager to join our HMP Glasgow project. This could be your opportunity to get involved in delivering modern new-build custodial facility, delivering a secure, energy efficient and high specification prison., Contract: Permanent, full time, permanent, flexibility can be considered simply outline in your application. What will you be responsible for? The Building Services Manager will manage various mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) related designers and subcontractors through design development, contractor design portion (CDP), installation and commissioning, and ensure all works are fully coordinated and delivered in accordance with the programme. Aligned with the house block element of the project the BSM will be involved in delivering high value MEP services. As a Building Services Manager at Kier working on HMP Glasgow, you will:
- Ensuring delivery of the building services works or the elements there off on the project achieving full integration with fabric and fit out works both internally and externally
- Provide all necessary construction MEP support including the management of services design and its integration in whole design
- Work closely with the Kier project manager, design manager and commercial team and provide support to site management in relation to coordination of MEP installations
- Ensure that the design and installation of M&E services is fully coordinated, buildable, cost effective and complies with Kier's contractual obligations
- Manage the building services design, installation and commissioning process to meet programme
- Review designers and contractors' drawings for completeness of information and compliance with contract requirements (specification, ER, etc).
- Review MEP sub-contractor Technical Submittals and RAMS and provide comment
- Check ongoing installation for compliance with contract requirements (specification, drawings etc.)
- Provide expertise in planning and executing the building services installation and commissioning.
- Provide input in the production of the project programme
- Contribute to the regular Project Reports and chair or attend Project Meetings.
- Produce Services Status Reports or provide information to support the overall project report.
- Review MEP sub-contractor Project Progress Reports and comment
- Influence and support teams to innovate and achieve optimum solution
- Facilitate and lead building services design and progress meetings and workshops
Strong technical knowledge of M&E Design and Installations - Good understanding of full building services packages - Mechanical, Electrical, ICT, Plumbing. - large commercial setting
- Experience working within a main contracting environment, managing specialist sub contract partners on large projects.
- Ability to produce M&E design, installation and commissioning programmes, plan and prioritise work to ensure all targets are met
- Understanding of SMART technology and the integration of specialist systems We want to hear from you if you have:
- Technical qualification in Mechanical and/or Electrical disciplines
- Degree qualified and relevant professional qualification/ accreditation
- SMSTS 5 Day Cert and CSCS Card
- IT literacy - comfortable utilising various construction programmes.
