Full Job Description

Are you an experienced site manager or have construction site experience assessing developments against approved warrant drawings and standards and want a change of career? An excellent and unique opportunity to join the Councils Building Standards service as a Building Standards Inspector. There is a national drive to strengthen building standards regulation and to meet this commitment, the Council have created a new post of Building Standards Inspector, Working with Building Standards Surveyors, the role will provide a range of support services, including the inspection of building works at various stages in construction to assess compliance against the technical standards; responding to an investigation of dangerous building complaints, applying standards, and liaison with agents, contractors and stakeholders.

This is a permanent post, based in Lochgilphead, and will involve carrying out site inspections across the area from Campbeltown to Oban, including the islands. Local government and flexible working conditions apply, together with a salary of £31,990-34,764.
