Full Job Description
We are seeking a Business Analyst with a proactive attitude and a strong interest in managing projects, organising workflows, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. This person will help ensure smooth execution of both public-facing and internal projects, including educational initiatives, organisational tools, and disaster relief systems. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to gain hands-on experience in project management while working on meaningful, mission-driven projects., 1. Project Planning & Timeline Development + Assist in developing and maintaining project roadmaps for initiatives like the children's app, Little Heroes TV, and internal systems such as the intranet, HR platform, and Relief Operating System (ROS). + Help create clear timelines, milestones, and schedules, ensuring all tasks are tracked and completed on time. + Regularly update timelines and communicate adjustments to the team. 1. Coordination & Communication
- Act as a point of contact to facilitate communication between teams, including developers, designers, HR, and operations.
- Support team meetings, record notes, and follow up on action items, ensuring everyone stays aligned on project goals and deadlines.
- Assist in gathering requirements from each team, translating them into actionable tasks for developers and designers. 1. Support Internal System Development
- Work closely with senior team members to support the planning and roll-out of internal systems, including HR management, document management, and the intranet.
- Gather input from different departments to ensure each system meets team needs and supports organisational efficiency.
- Assist in training and onboarding team members to new systems and processes. 1. Disaster Relief Operating System (ROS) Coordination
- Help gather requirements for the Relief Operating System (ROS), coordinating input from relief teams to create a streamlined and effective tool.
- Support documentation, workflow mapping, and reporting setup for a well-organised ROS rollout.
- Coordinate with external vendors or software providers if additional expertise is needed for the ROS. 1. Process Support & Quality Assurance
- Assist in documenting and improving project management processes, such as task tracking, feedback collection, and version control.
- Support quality checks at each milestone, ensuring all deliverables meet organisational standards and are child-friendly and educational.
- Identify and share potential areas for process improvement to help streamline project workflows. 1. Contribute to Creative Ideation & Problem Solving
- Participate in brainstorming sessions, offering fresh ideas for educational content, operational improvements, and user engagement strategies.
- Help troubleshoot project challenges, learning to adapt plans and timelines as needed.
- Be an active learner and contributor, seeking guidance and mentorship to grow into a fully independent project manager over time.
Humanitarian Operations is dedicated to empowering children through engaging and educational digital experiences. Our initiatives include an educational app that helps children learn fundamental skills, Little Heroes TV and Little Reporters to discuss current issues in a child-friendly way, and impactful disaster relief operations. To support our mission, we're also building essential internal systems like an intranet, HR system, and a Relief Operating System (ROS). We're looking for a motivated, organised, and hands-on team player excited to support and coordinate these projects., Educational Background - Recent graduate in project management, business administration, education, nonprofit management, or a related field. - Organisational Skills - Strong attention to detail, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and stay organised in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication & Teamwork - Effective verbal and written communication skills and an ability to collaborate well with team members from different departments.
- Proactive & Eager to Learn - A self-starter with a positive attitude, willing to learn on the job and take on new responsibilities.
- Interest in Nonprofits & Education - Passionate about children's education, digital learning, or nonprofit work. Nice-to-Haves:
- Familiarity with project management software (such as Asana, Trello, or similar).
- Basic understanding of app development, digital media production, or content creation.
