Job Description:
Deliver business analysis services for the Business Bulletin Project.
This is a bespoke product which is being developed by a team of in-house developers. You will be expected to work with the developers to understand the impact of new requirements on the code base. The business analyst will also work with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the proposed technical solution meets the business requirements.
This project is currently inflight and is about to commence the second phase. You will be working alongside a permanent business analyst to deliver the project outcomes.
This project is being delivered following a SCRUM methodology.
Main Duties:
- Work with in-house developers, to understand how the proposed technical approach supports the business requirements.
- Produce clearly defined Product Backlog Items and user stories which have detailed descriptions and testable acceptance criteria.
- Document business rules and ensure these are captured as part of the acceptance criteria.
- Produce models to support the customers' understanding of how the service will work.
- Deliver effective workshops to support the project
- Prepare and deliver 'Show and Tells' to project stakeholders.
- Deliver excellent services by working with stakeholders and in house developers to triage bugs
- Supporting users to undertake User Acceptance testing and providing feedback to developers and the project team as needed
- Keep stakeholders informed about project progress
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience of SCRUM methodology
- Excellent communication skills, including experience of translating complex information through the facilitation of workshops, interviews, or reports
- Experience of working with in-house developers to deliver a new bespoke service or adding new functionality to enhance an existing (bespoke) service
- Extensive stakeholder management and facilitation skills to articulate business requirements and translate these into project deliverables
- Advanced Visio and PowerPoint skills, and similar visual tools to aid requirements gathering
- Functional and non-functional skills requirements definition
- Experience of contributing to the estimating of backlog items
- Experience of working with developers to identify impact of requirements on the service, ensure these are documented
- Good problem solving, facilitation and influencing skills to reach consensus
Desirable Skills:
- Writing Test Plans from Product Backlog Items ensuring that acceptance criteria are captured as part of the test plan.
- Methodical approach to testing using test plans and raising defects.
- Ability to support the launch and adoption of a new service through group meetings, writing user guides
