Markets Operations Technology is part of Citi Markets Technology and provides foundational Post Trade activities for Markets. We own platforms to execute Trade Management, Settlement, Payments, Confirmations, Asset Servicing, Margin & Reporting solutions across all business lines and asset classes. It is a global organisation providing critical platforms that face internally and externally. A Business Analyst is required to drive requirements, design and implementation for critical cross functional changes impacting Citi Markets Operations. The role will blend a mix of technical knowledge, detailed analysis, problem solving and communication skills to drive activity at pace whilst identifying and mitigating risks and issues. The focus of this role will be on Data and Control linked to Regulatory driven commitments and therefore requires a focused and diligent individual. What you'll do We have a technology platform model across specific domains and this role will manage dependencies, communication, and engagement across multiple areas to define and drive a holistic solution. A broad understanding of Markets products and lifecycles with the ability to quickly grasp detail is essential. Markets Operations Technology works across an iterative and agile delivery model and the successful candidate will have knowledge across SDLC methods and be expected to support Operations and Technology teams through delivery phases. Business stakeholders are based in Citi sites globally, as are the Technology teams that the role will be partnering with. The successful applicant will work to: Deliver Solutions
- Apply in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and workflow for Operations partners
- Integrate subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area.
- Partner with our application teams to solicit good quality options and implementations that can be delivered effectively.
- Coordinate and provide guidance and ownership to application teams across Markets Technology to meet desired integration milestones.
- Provide in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate across functions as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business.
- Evaluate complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations.
- Execute strong analytical skills to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources.
- Possess excellent communication and diplomacy skills.
- Regularly assume informal leadership role within teams by influencing decisions through advice, and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization.
Stakeholder Communication - Communicate effectively with stakeholders with demonstrable experience dealing with senior stakeholders.
- Provide well rounded and suitable solutions that are grounded with strong expertise and engagement with process SMEs
- Facilitate effective communication between project teams and senior sponsors with clear and effective escalation when required.
- Build close working relationships with Operations, taking time to understand their use of platforms and processes. Risk and Issue Management
- Identify, assess and mitigate project risks and issues
- Plan ahead and develop contingency plans for potential risks What we'll need from you
- Experience in an IT Business Analyst role working across complex projects within Capital Markets domain.
- Demonstrable experience across Markets financial products (Equities, Fixed Income, Commodities, Derivatives) or Payment flows and their lifecycle
- Understanding of Operations flows within a Capital Markets business
- Excellent Communication skills, with ability to build strong relationships.
- Experience of dealing with Regulatory initiatives in a high pressure environment
- Previous participation in Consent Order initiatives and detailed understanding of Citi Data would be a significant advantage
- Experience of Markets Operations processes and/or technology would be a significant advantage
- Education: Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience
