The Council’s Housing, Customer and Building Services is recruiting a Business Analyst to provide business analysis , financial planning and forecasting, budget monitoring and financial reporting support to the Head of Service and senior managers across the Service.

The postholder will report direct to the Head of Service and will require a high level of business analysis and financial monitoring expertise and the ability to communicate effectively with senior managers across the service, other Chief Officers and the Finance Management Unit.

The post requires knowledge of corporate and service issues, as well as consideration of wider environmental and political factors. 

The postholder will be expected to set and meet high quality performance standards and continually strive to surpass these standards.The post holder will be required to contribute pro-actively and to use their initiative to progress analysis of business and financial data to identify short and long term service improvement activity and may be involved in a number of cross cutting exercises outwith their immediate area of responsibility.

The postholder should be educated to degree level in a relevant business or financial discipline, have good planning and organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.

The postholder should also have good written and oral skills with good IT skills, including the ability to use spreadsheets and computerised accounting packages.
