Company Overview: Our company is a leading foodservice distributor specialising in providing high-quality products to businesses in the hospitality sector. We are seeking a talented and motivated Sales Professional to join our dynamic team.

Position Overview: The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving sales growth and expanding our customer base within the hospitality sector throughout Scotland. This position requires a combination of sales expertise, marketing knowledge, and strong interpersonal skills to effectively promote our products and build lasting customer relationships. They will have a deep understanding of the food industry and will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales and marketing plans.

Responsibilities:

  1. Sales and Business Development:
  • Identify and target potential customers, including restaurants, hotels, cafes, caterers, and other food service businesses.
  • Conduct market research to identify new sales opportunities, market trends, and competitor activities.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline through prospecting, lead generation, and cold calling.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop sales strategies and achieve sales targets.
  • Conduct sales presentations, product demonstrations, and negotiations to close deals.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to existing clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  1. Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and providing personalised service.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including operations, logistics, and customer service, to ensure seamless order fulfilment and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular customer visits, attend meetings, and participate in industry networking events to foster and strengthen business relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in sales and marketing within the food industry, preferably in food wholesale or distribution.
  • Strong knowledge of food products, industry trends, and competitor landscape.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets and drive business growth.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and digital marketing tools.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.
