Full Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Specialist Services, and Head of Commercial & Business Management - UK, this role is primarily responsible for leading Specialist Services business development activities and the pursuit of new business opportunities to increase Specialist Services businesses revenue and EBIT. This role will also support other ASCO business development activity. Duties include:

  • Evaluating, analysing, and formulating Business Development strategies for business growth, working closely with business Managers to identify strategic markets and targets.
  • Executing Business Development strategy plans through proactive approaches / visiting clients to sell services and operations. Continually assessing future opportunities and adapting plans as required.
  • Managing the bidding, tendering and pricing process for Specialist Services requirements, with support from Group commercial when requested.
  • Developing targeted lists, call strategies, and messaging to drive sales qualified opportunities that meet goals established by management.
  • Producing regular forecasts of activity (sales pipeline) and communicating upcoming work effectively to business managers and the Specialist Services Management team.
  • Preparing and delivering effective sales presentations.
  • Discovering new leads through internet research and social media.
  • Contributing to strategic sales and account status meetings and wider ASCO Business Development meetings.

  • Demonstrable experience in building and maintaining positive and professional work and client relationships.
  • Experience managing, coaching and leading sales teams, and accustomed to working effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confident networker with professional presentation of self at all times.
  • Effective communicator and influencer at all levels with the ability to tailor their personal approach based on the needs and styles of individual clients - verbally and written.
  • A strategic and analytical thinker with the ability to think laterally to identify opportunities.
  • Extensive knowledge of, and experience of working with Operators and Consultancy firms within the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • A thorough understanding of customer requirements and market conditions, alongside knowledge of the Company's business practices and overall current and proposed service offerings.
  • Computer literate with well-developed IT skills including but not limited to the Microsoft Office suite, general database programs and internet and web deployed communication, and a practical understanding of data entry and reporting applications.
