Business Improvement Officer

35 hours per week
Permanent
£39,824 - £44,003 / £21.82 - £24.11 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)

We are looking for a Business Improvement Officer to join the Improvement and Performance Service.

The successful candidate will have significant knowledge and experience of project management, change management and continuous improvement, with a focus on user and business needs.

Our purpose is to support the council’s services to deliver a diverse range of improvement, systems development, and digital projects. Our projects cover all areas of the Council’s core services, including social care, education, and neighbourhood services. Underpinning this is a focus on performance and the delivery of measurable improvement.

Your role is to lead these projects. This is a diverse role with a lot of variety and will include everything from project management and stakeholder engagement to supporting the improvement of systems and processes.

We need people who want to make a difference and have the desire to contribute to the business of the Council where the community is at the heart of what we do. A collaborative approach is required and is a fundamental part of how we operate.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly organised, customer-focused individual. The ability to communicate, facilitate and engage effectively with people is an essential part of this role.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.

You should hold a degree or equivalent level qualification in a relevant subject or, where this qualification is not held, a minimum of 4 years’ experience of working in a similar role / environment is required.

This post requires Basic Disclosure Scotland Clearance.
