Temporary secondment cover for 2 years.
Hourly rate of pay: £15.52 - £16.58

Days and Hours of Work:
Monday - Friday
Starting and finishing times are flexible, and flexi time is applicable.

A opportunity has arisen for a Business Rates and Sundry Accounts Officer to work within our Revenues Service based at John Muir House, Haddington as temporary cover for an internal secondment.

Our Business Rates & Sundry Accounts Team is responsible for managing and updating customer accounts, working in partnership with internal Council Services and external organisations, and collecting Business Rates and Sundry Accounts charges.

As well as being educated to a minimum HNC level, or equivalent level of knowledge or working experience, the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, initiative, attention to detail and organisation.

Home / Hybrid Working Consideration

Job Details

Responsible for the delivery of an effective and efficient service to collect Business Rates and Sundry Account income to ensure that the Council has the finances to deliver high quality services to all residents of East Lothian. Ensure customers and services are fully supported and all work is in compliance with the Council's policies, procedures and legislation with a commitment to achieve best value.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
HNC/SVQ Level 3 or equivalent level of knowledge e.g. IRRV, Accountancy and/or relevant working experience.

Driving Licence
A full current driving licence is desirable for this post.
