Full Job Description
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern for this position is Monday - Friday.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and committed administrator to join the Renfrewshire HSCP Prescribing Team to provide secretarial/administrative support. The post will include a varied and interesting range of administration duties as outlined in the job description to support the Prescribing Team. Applicants must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to demonstrate competence in the use of a range of computer packages evidenced by experience or formal qualifications e.g. ECDL and must demonstrate knowledge of working in an office environment and of operation of office equipment and systems. Supported by the senior administrator, the postholder should be able to work with minimum supervision using their own initiative, but within relevant protocols and procedures, with a high degree of accuracy and be able to prioritise their workload effectively. This post requires good planning, time management and organisational skills. A flexible approach and being able to work as part of a team is essential.
Minimum Requirements:
- Full proficiency in computer skills i.e. all aspects of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook Competence in the use of range of computer packages evidenced by
- experience or formal qualification e.g. ECDL
- Must show knowledge of working in an office environment and of operation of office
- Equipment and systems. This may be through formal training or work experience
- Should be willing to participate in short courses or more formal training opportunities to improve skill level e.g. through achievement of SVQ in Administration at Level 2 or 3
- Requires good command of verbal and written English
