Full Job Description

As a Buyer III at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., you will have a unique opportunity to support the Senior Manager, Procurement in developing strategic relationships with the supply base. Your focus will be on improving supplier performance in terms of quality and delivery while mitigating supply chain risk through robust contract and relationship management processes. In addition, you will lead a team of Buyers and provide support to the Material Planning team to ensure on-time material availability for manufacturing. This role offers an exceptionally wide remit in terms of procurement and sourcing responsibility, allowing you to make a significant impact on the organization.
Essential Functions:
Support the Senior Manager, Procurement in developing ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency and enhance business performance.Set up and review supplier agreements, conduct monthly scorecard reviews of key suppliers, and lead quarterly business reviews to drive performance improvement activities.Resolve high-level issues related to price, quality, delivery, or payment.Research and evaluate areas of opportunity to mitigate risk and reduce costs.Drive overall procurement process improvement and develop clear work instructions.Build strong collaborative partnerships with colleagues within the organization.Lead and support continuous improvement projects to eliminate non-value-added activities.Foster the growth and development of a team of Buyers through regular 1-2-1 reviews, mentoring, and coaching.Provide support to the operational Material Planning team as needed.Create and maintain management information reports.

Proven strategic procurement experience, preferably in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Strong leadership qualities.Understanding of working in a regulated environment.Risk and contract management experience.Experience in developing teams that consistently demonstrate exceptional performance.Capability to enhance outcomes, minimize expenses, and foster business enhancements.Project management experience.Strong technical knowledge and understanding of supply chain management.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficiency in computer applications, including advanced Excel skills.
Working Conditions:

This role is based in Inchinnan and involves working in an office environment. While infrequent travel may be required, the majority of your work will take place on-site.
