Part-time hours: 16-20 per week (Expected hours: 20 per week)

Salary: Dependant on Experience

Job Type: Part-time

We are looking for a highly competent and reliable person to join our team. Your primary role will be as a Call Handler working in the Medical Reception primarily at our Melrose site . The role will involve telephone triage and face to face encounters with patients and health professionals. You will also dealing with requests for information, processing prescription requests, booking appointments and a number of other administrative duties. While experience of working in a GP surgery would be an advantage , the job requires excellent communication skills , IT literacy and administrative ability. This job is best suited to a candidate who can remain calm in occasionally stressful situations. It is a varied job and requires the ability to multi task.

The post is for around 16-20 hours (plus holiday cover by arrangement) split into 5 hour blocks (8-1 pm, 11.30-4.30 pm or 1-6 pm depending on requirements of the practice) over 3/4 days. A Friday shift will be required. This work pattern is not negotiable. NHS pension offered.
