Full Job Description

To manage and develop high quality Domiciliary Care Services for the elderly and other vulnerable people with specialized needs. Along with:

  • To directly manage the business/branch managers running local services in the defined geographical area.

  • To ensure high quality and appropriate service in accordance with Company policies, priorities and agreed practices.

  • To develop and maintain appropriate review and planning mechanisms for people using our services.

  • To ensure effective involvement of and communication with service users, carers or family members in service development, at all times being in a position to evidence the outcomes for all concerned.

  • To build and develop business relationships with all existing and potential core customers within the defined geography, including, but not limited to, Social Services departments and other Health and Social Care organisations both in the public and private sectors.

  • To contribute to the auditing of branch procedures in order to promote a quality service.

  • To contribute towards all aspects of relevant, continued performance improvement, including local and national targets (operational, managerial and financial) and managing and enhancing the performance of teams and individuals.

  • To participate in the recruitment, deployment and development of staff and the application of the Company disciplinary procedure.

  • To carry out responsibilities under the Companys complaints procedure including the investigation and resolution of complaints.

  • To provide regular, timely and co-ordinated management information to support the Branch operations and service planning.

  • To maintain and develop appropriate administrative/ monitoring systems and to collect and interpret statistical data.

  • To oversee that all risk assessments are undertaken effectively and the information for all new and current service users is correctly processed.

  • To oversee that all schedules and care plans are defaulted on the companys care management system in such a way as to ensure that weekly schedules of care & support are delivered safely and appropriately.

  • To be an exemplar senior manager in respect of Dignity in Care and Adult Support and Protection within the overall context of keeping people safe and avoiding abuse.

  • To provide cover for the Care Services Director in their absence

  • To be prepared to travel across the UK as required by the Company from time-to-time.

  • To undertake such other duties as are within the scope of the job purpose, the title of the job and its grading.

    The Care Services Manager role requires candidates that can multi-task, have excellent communication skills and can manage and motivate all employees. Candidates should be able to prioritise, efficiently delegate duties and work well under pressure. They should be professional, polite and attentive whilst also being accurate and should be able to represent the business at a senior level, both internally and externally., SVQ Level 4 in Health & Social Care/Leadership and Management Award.

  • Substantial experience (minimum 3 years) of working at a senior operational level within and Adult Domiciliary Care Service setting.

  • Commercial experience of contract negotiations and discussions with Public Sector bodies.

  • Track record of growing a domiciliary care business.

  • Proven ability to interpret financial data and manage financial performance.

  • Experience and good track record of business relationship management with Public Sector.

  • Proven track record in using computerised scheduling systems such as Cold Harbour and CM2000 or similar.

  • PVG Membership

  • SSSC registration (must be maintained)

  • Evidence of ETW in the UK

  • Travelling will be required with this position

  • Out of Hours working will be required with this position, in line with business requirements

  • On-Call availability will be required at the start of the role but this may change and be amended in line with business requirements
