Full Job Description

Sense Scotland is recruiting now for a Support Practitioner offering 22.5 hours per week via a staff team rota. At Sense Scotland, we take immense pride in our work and are currently seeking new talent to join us in supporting individuals with their everyday lives. As a Support Practitioner, you will support an active gentleman within his own home on a 1-1 basis. The gentleman is deaf and communicates using a mix of BSL and Makaton therefore strong communication skills are essential quality for the role. The gentleman enjoys being social and is an upbeat fun person who has a love for animals. You will assist him to be as independent as possible supporting him to attend his daily activities which includes going to football, discos, and the day centre he attends. You will also support with general house hold tasks including finance management as well as with administering medication and some aspects of personal care. The shifts are a mixture of early and back shifts (7.5 hours) followed by a sleepover allocated via a staff rota system.
