Full Job Description

The Category Manager is responsible for managing the procurement activities for specific categories (Raw Materials, Ingredients & Utilities), ensuring cost-effective and efficient sourcing of goods and services. You will have five main areas of responsibility:

  • Pernod Ricard Strategy Support & Execution
  • To support & implement the global category sourcing strategies, developing local service level agreements to achieve cost savings and value creation.
  • You will align local activity with global Pernod Ricard category strategies, identifying initiatives and leveraging Chivas addressable spend.
  • You will also contribute to the category roadmap, delivering against key pillars for procurement success and support and enable the group Sustainability & Responsibility roadmap.
  • Supplier Management
  • To negotiate contracts and agreements with local suppliers to secure favourable terms and manage competitive processes, utilising Chivas e-procurement tools & systems, negotiating local commercial events.
  • You will monitor supplier performance to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of goods and services, building strong & strategic relationships with suppliers, with regular reviews and improvement action plans.
  • Collaboration
  • To collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and align procurement strategies accordingly.
  • You will engage stakeholders at all levels & facilitate transversal ways of working to maximise value
  • Market Knowledge
  • To conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks within assigned categories, understanding market dynamics and supplier intelligence.
  • You will review opportunities to rationalise supply base, whilst also identifying potential new suppliers
  • Reporting & Compliance
  • To analyse spend data and generate reports to track procurement performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • You will be responsible for execution of contracting policy and improved legal compliance across assigned categories, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Who you'll be working with Internally, you'll collaborate with the wider Procurement team, as well as Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Legal and Finance. Key stakeholders will be Senior Leadership Team and the Pernod Ricard Global Procurement network. Externally, you will collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure delivery of services to the highest standard. Your blend of talent

  • Have a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related subject and a track record in procurement, with a focus on category management.
  • Are a strong negotiator, with an analytical approach, and good problem-solving skills.
  • Are proficient in the use of procurement software and tools.
