Charge Nurse

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the nursing team within the Acute Medicine for the Elderly West (Ward 33), Ninewells Hospital. We are a new, dynamic, progressive unit that embraces change and improvement.

 Acute Medicine for the Elderly (AME) West (Ward 33) is a new clinical area that will be part of the current Medicine for the Elderly footprint within Ninewells. It will be an 18 bedded, short stay ward for frail, elderly male and female inpatients. AME West (Ward 33) will embrace a multi-disciplinary approach to delivering the best care experience possible for patients, their families and carers. This post offers the opportunity for individuals to further advance their nursing skills and knowledge within the field of Acute Medicine for the Elderly nursing whilst working towards achieving evidence based competencies utilising the Older Peoples Framework. 

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about the Care of Older People in an acute setting, possess a positive attitude to change and are committed to the delivery of high quality person centred care.  Along with the senior nursing team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective day-to-day leadership and management of the nursing team within the unit, acting as a clinical expert. You should also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with evidence of continued professional development. Applicants should have proven ability in influencing change along with effective leadership and management skills.

You must be registered on Sub Part 1 RN/RNA of the UK NMC Register and have experience at senior level of nursing preferably within an MFE setting.
