Full Job Description
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
This is a fulltime, permanent post of 37 hours per week, with a rotational shift pattern.
UK NMC Registration is required.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic individual to join a primary care team within Prison Health Care at HMP Low Moss
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate an ability to work effectively to support development for this team.
The role requires 1st Level Registered Adult Nurse who can demonstrate (with evidence) skills in the following area:
Custodial settings or
- A minor injuries unit or
- Accident & Emergency or
- Drug and Alcohol Services or
- Treatment Room
- Can demonstrate ability to manage a caseload in one of the above areas
- Can demonstrate ability to effectively lead a team
- Significant post-registration experience of using specialist assessment skills and techniques to determine health and care needs, particularly when working with clients/patients who may, for example, have mental
- health issues, learning disabilities, language barriers, be under the influence of illicit substances, have chaotic lifestyles etc
- Ability to work within a team environment and autonomously using initiative.
- Have an ability to communicate with other professionals and disciplines.
- Ability to react clinically and professionally in a changing and challenging environment.
- Evidence of continuing professional development
Non-Medical Prescriber would be preferred but not essential.
