Full Job Description

Reporting to the Cheese Process Team Leader requirements of the role will include:-

  • Understanding of Membrane Filtration, Pasteurisation and Cheesemaking operations

  • Ensuring production plan is completed on time, carrying out corrective actions as appropriate

  • Ensuring high standards of Food Safety, Quality and Health & Safety are maintained

  • Providing support to the Team Leader and Specialist when required

  • Working using own initiative under pressure with minimum supervision

  • Be a proactive team player contributing to continuous improvement and demonstrating Lean principles for example problem solving, DDSs and 5S

  • Ensuring high standards of Food Safety, Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety are maintained within area and "audit ready" is the norm

  • Highlighting issues affecting daily plans, cooperating with Whey Process / Block former Techs and maintenance to overcome obstacles and implement recovery plans

  • Have a very flexible attitude to hours of work which include weekend, shift working on a rota basis and holiday cover.


  • Hours of work include weekend and shift working on a rota basis. Current 24hr - 7day shift pattern operating.

    An excellent opportunity has arisen in our Cheese Process department. The candidate will have knowledge of process control systems within a food production environment. A mechanical aptitude and basic computer skills, would also be an advantage.
