Post Title: Chief Officer (Planning and Economic Development) Location: Highland Council Headquarters, Inverness Hours: 35 hours per week Duration: Permanent Salary: £109,285 per annum (updated following 2024 Pay Award), Job Purpose: The Chief Officer position brings a fantastic opportunity to lead a new management structure, driving improvement and service excellence across the organisation. Key to leading and managing the strategic direction of planning services and economic development in the Highlands, this role will be crucial in shaping the future growth and sustainable development of the Highlands, fostering a vibrant economy, and enhancing the quality of life for our communities

We are seeking a highly progressive and motivated Chief Officer who will develop high performing teams to drive service improvements. You will play a key role in Highland Council's senior leadership team, working collaboratively in the Place Cluster and across the Council to ensure corporate and place priorities are delivered. Openness and accountability are essential and a commitment to equality, inclusion and diversity to create an environment where everyone can meet their full potential., Educated to degree level with evidence of continuous professional development and preferably a further relevant professional qualification
