Full Job Description

Glencassels Community Development Project (GCDP) is a well-established project located in the housing scheme of Craigneuk, near to Wishaw. This small Neighbourhood Centre, known locally as The Venny , presently provides a range of recreational, social and educational programmes for children, young people and adults and a Community Caf for all ages. We believe that it has the potential to make an even greater contribution to this community and as part of fulfilling this vision we seek a suitably qualified and experienced Childrens Worker. Funding for this post is presently in place for 18 Months, with continued funding anticipated. We are seeking to appoint an experienced worker to manage and develop after school and early evening clubs for children aged 5-10 years. The Venny has a long tradition of running children s clubs, in this community. The person appointed will be line managed and have the support of the Project Leader. They will have a small team of Sessional staff plus volunteers. It is anticipated that this 18 hours per week post will be worked over 3 days. The Childrens Worker will work with the Board, The Project Leader and in collaboration with the local community in providing high quality programmes for children in this community. This will be delivered primarily through clubs in the Venny but with scope and flexibility to develop outdoor children s activities, seasonal activities, outings and trips., None specified
